Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have missed out on making the finals of the NSWRL Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball Cup competitions.

The top six teams in each competition moved through to the finals after nine rounds with Sea Eagles finishing ninth in the Harold Matthews Cup and eighth in the SG Ball Cup.

Last year, Manly won the Harold Matthews Cup and made the SG Ball Cup finals.

Harold Matthews Cup season

The Sea Eagles recorded two wins, two draws and four losses from their eight matches played.

Coach Alex Moore’s team scored 106 points and conceded 162 for a points differential of -56 to finish on eighth competition points, three points off the sixth-placed Canberra Raiders.

Manly recorded its finest win of the season with an upset 18-10 victory over Cronulla, who finished the season in fourth place.

Rd 3: lost 28-20 to Illawarra, Aubrey Keech Reserve

Rd 4: drew 12-12 with St George, New Era Stadium

Rd 5: vs Penrith, cancelled (wet weather)

Rd 6: beat Cronulla Sharks 18-10, Pointsbet Stadium

Harold Matthews Cup Rnd 6 SHARKS v SEAEAGLES

Rd 7: beat Central Coast Roosters 30-14, Aubrey Keech Reserve

Rd 8: lost 42-4 to Western Suburbs Magpies, 4 Pines Park

Rd 9: lost to Balmain Tigers 24-16, Cronulla

SG Ball Cup season

Manly recorded four wins, three losses and a draw from their eight matches in the SG Ball Cup under Coach Brett Fulton.

The Sea Eagles scored 170 points (fifth best attack) and conceded 162 for a points differential of +8 to finish on 11 points equal with Canterbury (+16) and Cronulla (+12).

Their finest win came in round one against Canberra when they powered home to claim a 20-18 victory after trailing 12-6 at half-time.
