Fijian Secondary Schools Girl’s Nines kicks off tomorrow
Author : Asia-Pacific Rugby League
Fifteen teams from eleven schools will take part in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League (FSSRL) Girl’s Nines tournament this Saturday at St Marcellin’s Fields in Suva.
The nines tournament, which is the biggest girl’s Rugby League tournament held to date in Fiji, has attracted teams from across the Southern and Eastern parts of Viti Levu, including the regions of Namosi, Naitasiri and Tailevu, as the Fiji National Rugby League looks to expand its Women’s and Girl’s offerings.
The tournament will kick off with the Assemblies of God Sea Eagles facing the Lelean Bati, whilst defending champions, the Lomaivuna High School Rabbitohs, will face the Ballantine Memorial Raiders in their opening game.
The winner of the tournament will collect the Walesi Soqoiwasa Cup. The Lomaivuna Rabbitohs won the 2020 edition of the Nines, defeating the AOG Sea Eagles 6 – 4 in last year’s Final.
