Monaro Colts Johns & Daley Cup Round Three Wrap

Round three of the SLE Andrew Johns Cup and SLE Laurie Daley Cup kicked off over the weekend, with the Monaro Colts defeated by the Ill SC Dragons in both grades.

The Monaro Colts fell short to the SC Dragons in a 30-18 defeat on Saturday at Ack Weyman Oval, Moruya.

The Colts were out of the gates fast with two tries in the opening 20 minutes to take an early 10-nil lead, courtesy to tries from Lachlan Cunanan and Dylan Watkins.

The SC Dragons rallied back to score two late tries in the first half to walk into the sheds with a 12-10 lead at the break.

It was all SC Dragons in the second half with a double from Hudson Bailey, along with tries from Jackson Smith and Brodie Breakspear.

Lachlan Cunanan bagged a hattrick for the Colts, but it wasn’t enough as they went down 30-18.

The Monaro side will travel to face the Western Rams at Pioneer Oval, Parkes, this Saturday.

Laurie Daley Cup

The Monaro Colts were defeated by the Ill SC Dragons 44-4 on Saturday at Ack Weyman Oval, Moruya.

The Ill SC Dragons dominated the contest from start to finish when the Illawarra side piled on nine tries to one on Saturday.

Monaro centre Darcy Bush was able to cross the line early in the second half for a four-pointer, but it was all one-way traffic from the SC Dragons from then on.

Jack Piccirilli and Kyle McCarthy both crossed for a double and Kyan Hjaltason scored a hattrick in the Dragons heavy defeat over Monaro.

The Colts will also travel to Pioneer Park to face the Western Rams this Saturday.
