As we approach round three of the 2022 NSWRL junior rep’s season OurFootyteam looks at the SG Ball Cup Rnd 3 matches and we see some more exciting line ups

Let have a look at the round 3 draw

SG Ball Cup

Three teams have the Bye this week, Cronulla, North Sydney and the Sydney roosters

There are 7 teams with 2 wins in the 2022 NSWRL SG Ball Cup Competition so far

Victorian Thunderbolts v St. George Dragons

St.George have 2 points so far this year thanks to a bye in round 1

Canberra beat the Dragons by 2 points in round 2 last week in Canberra and are looking for a win

The Thunderbolts got smashed by the Panthers in Rnd 1 but put in a huge effort last week scoring 18 points against the Steelers.

Talking to Rugby League Victoria chief ballboy and former Australian Schoolboy Captain Tim Auremi on Wednesday, Tim said, ”the Thunderbolts are training very well and showing improvement with each game.”

Sua Faalogo is now full time with the NRL squad will miss the game, he will be playing for the Melbourne Storm in their trial against the Knights.

Josiah Keni and Leviticus Amiatu get thier opportunity while Dannie Samani, Hussein Anani, Kye Beckett and Patrick Taukafa return for the Dragons

OurFootyteam’s Prediction : Thunderbolts

Canberra Raiders v Penrith Panthers

Both the Raiders and Panthers are coming off wins in Rnd 2.

Defending champions Canberra got away with a tight 2 point win over the Dragons and the Panthers were too good on the day for the Cronulla Sharks

Leading point scorer in the SG Ball Cup this year, Panthers 5-eight Isaiya Katoa is sitting this one out giving the talented Keagan Russell-Smith a crack in this pivotal role

Canberra have Jack Anderson, Jacob Haeata and Kaden Williams replacing Brock Sing, Clay Sing, Hawani Howe

Penrith have make plenty of changes bringing in Billy Phillips, Cainan Hardiman, Jakeb VAILALO, Luke Hanson, Mitchell Chester, Moustafa Dirani, Siotame Hansen.

Panthers will rest , Isaiya Katoa, Jesse McLean and Mason Teague

OurFootyteam’s Prediction : Panthers

Western Suburbs Magpies v Parramatta Eels

Coming off round 2 losses, Wests and Parra will be keen to sing their team songs for the 1st time this year after the game.

Magpies have bleed 60 points in 2 gaames and will need to tighten up in defense if they want to stop the Parramatta young guns

Western Suburbs have brought back plenty of players Brandan Hamilton, Christian Jardim, Isaiah Anamani, Jibril Elrich, Joshua Coinakis, Jude Gomez, , Leiukamea Schaaf, Ropeti Lole and Tapuaki Lomu

Bryce Wilson, Izaak Nasio and Lachlan Bush will miss out

Parramatta have made 5 changes with Arthur Miller-Stephen, Daniel Readon, Reilly Canning, Suliasi Aho, Yehya Ayache replacing Ibrahim Fakhri, Patrick Spence, Raffaele De Stradis, Terrence Lafai and Tutonu Junior Wright

OurFootyteam’s Prediction : Eels

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Newcastle Knights

Souths are struggling this year and sit on the bottom of the table and the Knights are sitting 2nd winning both their first 2 games.

South still found a way to score 26 points against the Roosters last week, so are able to put points on the board

Rabbitoh’s have Archie Donnelly, Connor Puru, Naati Teaupa and Samuel Sahyoun coming into the Rnd 3 team giving Daniel Matakaiongo and Thomas Fletcherthe week off.

Cooper Bigeni, Taj Blackman, and Taj Ridley come into the Knights side and Chris Vea’ila, Liam Sutton, Rory Whitby sitting this round out

OurFootyteam’s Prediction : Kinghts by 16 +

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v Balmain Tigers

Doggies and Tigers are both in the 8 after 2 rounds and both have leaked 17 points per game so far

Balmain were too good against the Norths last week and the Bulldogs accounted for the Eels at Eels fortress New Ear Stadium.

This should be a cracker and could be the match of the round as neither team want their first defeat of the season.

The Belmore boiz have a slightly better attack scoring 56 points in their 2 games and the Balmain boiz close on 48 points.

Canterbury have Braye Porter, Danny Gabrael, Junior Taupau, Lachlan Broederlow, Luke Smith, Ryan Moloney and Trey Valentine getting a run while Bilal Yazici, Tamarere Simons miss out

Only three changes for the Tigers, Jack CARROLL, Jonathan Ibrahim and Tyrese Fuatimau, and Ethan MUNRO, Lachlan Woodger, Levi Conti missing out

OurFootyteam’s Prediction : Bulldogs in a tight game

Manly Seaeagles v Illawarra Steelers

Illawarra coach Ash Barnes told his team they had to dig deep in Rnd 2 to win against the improving Thunderbirds and Manly should be fresh after last week Bye

The Steeelers are currently sitting in second possie and Manly are 7th

Manly have an outstanding player list.

Seaeagles coach Brett Fulton will need to get the best out of his players out at the Aubrey Keech Reserve to win against the Steelers who travel quite well

Ollie Cummings will sit out this game giving Antonio Taufa, Fletcher Myers, James Malauulu and Ryan James their shot.

Fulton has made 2 changes to the Round 2 side bringing in Ashton Ward and Tobias Miller, sitting out Toby Couchman and Viliami Mahe

OurFootyteam’s Prediction : Steelers 10 +
