Pirates Under 19’s & Junior Representative Programs
Author : Tony Crowe WARL
Based on the Cash Converters West Coast Pirates not participating in 2021 SG Ball Cup Competition due to COVID 19 Guidelines & Travel Restrictions that continue to influence how we can plan short or long term.
NRL WA with the full support of Cash Converters has committed to complete a review and identify the best options for how best we can deliver a quality pathway opportunity for players both boys and girls and for staff such as Coaches, Sports Trainers, LeagueSafe and Team Managers.

In 2021 as part of our Junior Representative Programs we will be introducing an under 19’s Cash Converters Cup competition and will be selecting a West Coast Pirates Squad from this, targeting an interstate tour to further provide our people greater development opportunities and experience against higher level of opposition.
There will also be a change for the female schedule with the Danielle Parker Cup moves to under 19s as part of the National Female pathways structure with a State squad to be selected from this competition before preparing and competing in the National Championship on the Gold Coast in May at the same time and venue as the Senior Women’s event.

In other news on the back of continued female participation growth another new junior representative competition will be introduced in 2021 with the Anneka Stephens Cup for under 17s girls joining our pathway structure.
The Anneka Stephens Cup is a fantastic initiative that allows us all to Acknowledge Anneka as the first Western Australian player to play in the NRL Women’s Premiership as a member of the St George Dragons in 2019.
Anneka is currently actively involved as player and junior coach with the Joondalup Giants
