Monaro Johns and Daley Cups round four wrap

The Colts Johns Cup side recorded their third win of the season, while the Daley Cup side pulled off a thrilling draw in round four action.

The Monaro Under 16s side bounced back after last week’s loss with a 14-0 win over the Western Rams at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday.
The Colts defence was very strong all game, holding a strong Rams outfit to zero points.
The home side jumped to an early 4-0 lead with centre Rhys Djerke scoring the opening try.
They consolidated their lead ten minutes later after winger Israel Taiatini crossed for a four-pointer and five-eighth Blake Hovi kicked the conversion.
A try deep in the second half to Monaro’s Ethan Alaia gave the Colts a 14-0, sealing the win for the side.

The Colts Under 18s pulled off a stunning 22-all draw against the Western Rams at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday.
Monaro trailed by six points with two minutes to go before Jayde Howard burst through the Rams defence to plant the ball down on the try-line. Halfback Mitchell Evans kicked the conversion to seal the draw.
It was a see-sawing affair between the two undefeated sides. The Colts were first on the scoreboard, with hooker Jack Anderson crashing over. Evans added the two points to give his side a 6-0 lead.
The Rams hit back just one minute later through their winger Darcy Leadbitter, closing the gap to 6-4.
Monaro winger Kane Rushton scored next to give the home side a 10-4 lead. But the Rams hit back again with two tries in five minutes, with Leadbitter nabbing his second try of the day and Mitchell Cleary also crossing the try-line. Braye Porter successfully kicked both conversions to put his side ahead 16-10 at half-time.
The Colts levelled the scores just after half-time, with a try to Joshua Weir and conversion to Evans.
Western Rams centre Zac Williams crashed over the try-line next, with Porter solid with the boot again to give the visitors a 22-16 lead.
But Monaro kept attacking the Rams outfit, coming away with a draw.
Monaro take on the Macarthur Wests Tigers next weekend in the final round of the regular season.
