Illawarra Steelers Weekend Wrap

Leading 4-0 at half time, after a try to Sulieti Ahio in the 20th minute, and 10-4 midway through the second half, the Steelers Tarsha Gale Cup side finished 10-all against the Eels.
The visitors scored after the siren in a tense final few minutes, with Alysha Bell landing a clutch sideline conversion to tie the game.
Harold Matthews Cup
In Harold Matts, the boys trailed 12-6 at halftime and were first to score in the second through a long-range effort by speedster Harry Wililo to bridge the gap.
It was all the Eels from there, with two further converted tries for a 22-10 final result for the visitors.
Coach Russell Aitken will take some positives out of a solid second-half effort by his SG Ball side, who were defeated 36-20 by the Eels.
After trailing 22-4 at the break, the home side scored four tries in the second stanza, including a hat-trick to Ethan Cliff.
While the Steelers missed all five conversion attempts, the Eels’ Ethan Sanders landed five conversions and a penalty goal giving his side the advantage.
Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership
The Steelers Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership side took on the Wenty Magpies Mon, 20 Feb) at 7pm with the game live streamed on the NSWRL’s Facebook page.
