Thank you to Beenleigh State High for another outstanding start to the QSSRL Year with the Tonie Carroll Cup.

Well done to Marsden State High School who were once again crowned champions after a thrilling Grand Final against Palm Beach Currumbin SHS.

Girls Rugby League Tonie Carroll Cup

Saturday saw our Year 7/8 Girls Rugby League teams take to the field for the first time in 2021.

The Tonie Carroll Cup provides a fantastic opportunity for our more experienced Year 8 players to support their Year 7 teammates in their first outing in the black, white and maroon

Our two teams performed admirably across the day, entertaining the crown with their aggressive defence and sparkling attack.

These girls were well supported throughout the event by Year 9 girls Chloe, Rina, Beautiful, Nikolina and Mercedez who volunteered their time to support their younger players.

A huge thank you to these girls for giving back to the program, and setting a standard for the younger girls to follow.

Also a massive thank you to the families of our girls, who were vocal supporters for each game and demonstrated fantastic pride in our Mako community

This year’s event was the biggest yet with a great turnout for the Boys and Girls Divisions.
