Marsden girls Tonie Carroll Cup
A fantastic first hit out for our Year 7/8 girls teams at this year’s Tonie Carroll Cup
Our focus for the day was on the leadership development of our more senior players, and giving a large number of our new year 7’s their first taste of Makos Rugby League.
The girls were outstanding on the day, and their focus on the key areas of the game was pleasing to the coaching staff.
In our short preparation time, the girls have worked hard on their catch pass and defensive technique.
As well as ensuring we have perfect play the ball, marker defence and communication, and it was great to see our girls put these into practice.
Moving forward, our Year 7/8 group and their coaches will head into the Titans Cup quite confident based on Fridays efforts.
This year our youngest Makos will field 3 teams in the Titans Cup, the most we have ever been able to nominate, which will provide more footy for our girls and more opportunities to develop their love for the game.
A huge thank you to the whanau and friends who came along to support their daughters on a very warm day.
It was fantastic to see you all again and we look forward to a busy and successful 2023 campaign
