NSWCHS hosted the 2023 under 18 State Trial at Collegians Sports Centre this week

The trials were played over 3 days between Monday 22 – 25 May with 5 schoolboy and 4 schoolgirl teams competiting for the huge honour of representing the NSWCHS at the National School Championship played in July at Redcliffe Stadium.

With all nine teams playing, the NSWCHS organised the tourniment which ran smoothly and on time each day, so congratulations to all the school commitee’s involved.

After 3 days of extreemly competitive rugby league, the NSWCHS Selectors had a very difficult task of selecting 2 teams to get it on in Redcliffe at the ASSRL Championships.

For the first time in NSWCHS history, an Under 18 Schoolgirl team was selected.

Another hard decision the selectors had to make was to choose the Players of the tournement.

NSWCHS Rugby League convenor Mr. Tim Wykes and Mr. Kevin Stacey should be congratulated for all their hard work over many months for their efforts putting the 2023 NSWCHS State u18 trials together.

While talking to parents, Mr Wykes reminded us all that all the teachers involved in school rugby league do it on a voluntary basis and do not get paid for their time.

Referee’s

The referee’s did a terrific and busy job at the NSWCHS State u18 trials.

Just like the players, the referee’s were competing to officiate at the ASSRL Champinships and further honours, well done boiz and thank you all very much.
