Patrician Brothers, Fairfield emphatically ended All Saints, Maitland’s interest in this year’s NRL Schoolboys Cup with a dominant display.

Patrician Brothers, Fairfield certainly made the trip north worthwhile after they emphatically ended All Saints, Maitland’s interest in this year’s NRL Schoolboys Cup.

Pats scored 26 points in a dominant second half to run out 42-6 victors.

Both teams put points on the scoreboard within the first seven minutes, however it was the visitors who dominated the first half, taking a 16-6 point lead.

Praising his team’s defense, Patrician Brothers coach Frank Pritchard said, despite starting the second half with “one player sent off and another in the bin, we defended the last 25 minutes with no tries.”

“I really felt that the boys showed the Patrician way at all costs,” he said.

Despite captain and Australian Secondary Schools Championship player Myles Martin being absent, the visitors scored three tries in the first half from fullback Taj’h Colquohoun, backrower Bailey Myers and hooker Yehya Ayache.

All Saints’ prop Nicholas Tuliatu showed the opposition they were still in the game, breaking their attack and running a distance of 40 metres.

The second half started off rocky with one player sent off and one in the sin bin, before the visitors returned to their attacking play.
