Wests Tigers announce 2022 Development Players

Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm its Development Players for the 2022 season as an extended squad returned to training this week.

With a number of new faces included in the wider squad, three young talented players will feature as part of the Development list this year — local juniors Henry O’Kane and Brandon Tumeth as well as Apisalome Saukuru.

2021 Development Players Reece Hoffman and William Kei have both been promoted to the full-time squad for the year ahead.

All still Jersey Flegg-eligible in 2022, O’Kane, Tumeth and Saukuru were all named as part of the wider U/21’s squad last week under the guidance of new Coach Scott Kenna.

While still several months away, it’s likely that the trio will begin the season in that competition before they transition through the pathways system.

“It’s great a great opportunity for Henry, Lomi and Brandon to sign on with Wests Tigers as development players for the 2022 season,” Wests Tigers Football Operations and Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell said.

“These players have all worked tirelessly over the past few seasons to get themselves to this position and they thoroughly deserve the opportunity to learn and grow from being in the full-time training environment.”
