SHARKS BEAT STORM AT OWN GAME
ourfootyteam logo
The Cronulla Sharks travelled to Melbourne on Saturday morning for their round 4 clash with the undefeated Melbourne Storm team at Princes Park and beat the Storm at their own game.

From the kickoff the Storm knocked on giving the Sharks the footy and the surfie boys started to apply some pressure and from that moment had the Storm boys under the pump for the entire game.

In the 9 th minute Sharks half Sam Clune passed a short ball to a flying Luke Pickerd who successfully burrowed his way over the line, the conversion was unsuccessful, Sharks up 0 - 4.

Four minutes later the Sharks were in again when Clune passes a short ball to Tyrone Viiga who crashed over using brute strength, Sharks 0 - 10

After some intense pressure and excellent ball handling the Sharks Clune made a half break to get the ball to Brendan Sexty from an inside pass to score next to the posts, James Hasson converted, Sharks 0 - 16

A few minutes before half time last years grand finalists turned it on when Australian Schoolboys fullback Maipele Morseu got outside the Sharks defenders and threw the ball to Kirisome Auva'a who ran flat out and passed inside to the speedy Richard Kinnar who scored in the corner, unfortunately Adam Milgate missed the conversion.

Melbourne found them selves down by 12 points at half time.

SHARKS TOO GOOD FOR WA REDS
ourfootyteam.com
The Cronulla Sharks SG Ball side is on track for a great 2010 after defeating the visiting WA Reds side from Perth.

Just like last week against Penrith the Sharks made too many basic errors in handling and dropped too much ball.

From the very start of the game, the kick off went out on the full giving the WA Boyz the restart, which was brilliantly caught one handed by winger Zach Rasmussen who scored in the corner in the first minute of the game.

CAMERON KING REFLECTS ON A BIG 2009
ourfootyteam.com
Cameron King is a country boy come good in the big smoke. Hailing from the country he also brought his humble country work ethics and values and these have helped turn this boy from Wagga Wagga into one of the elite of Australian sport.

2009 was a dream year for young Cameron and we spoke to one of his coaches at Endeavour Sports High School, Mr Brad Kelly, who was kind enough to tell us some of Cameron’s achievements through 2009.

"Cameron arrived at Endeavour SHS in year 9 and he ended up staying at the school for 4 years.

"2009 was a pretty stellar year for him, he has probably achieved more this year than any other student who has gone through our rugby league program.”

"Cameron has been great in terms of his leadership qualities not just in the games - but at training and his attitude around the school", said Mr Kelly.

Some of Cameron’s achievements through 2009 include :

AWARDS :

Endeavour SHS DAU MEDAL - which is recognition an individual who has made the most out standing on & off field contribution to the rugby league program at Endeavour SHS.

Endeavour SHS "PLAYER of the YEAR

ASSRL - PLAYER of the SERIES - Australian Schoolboys v Great Britian Community Lions

ASSRL - MAN of the MATCH - 1st TEST

NSWCHS - Sydney East BLUE
NSWCHS - NSWCHS BLUE

NSWCHS - VAL LEMBIT AWARD - the VAL LEMBIT AWARD is awarded to the most outstanding male athlete in NSW at CHS level

REP TEAMS :

Australian Schoolboys (Captain) v Great Britian Community LIONS

NSW Under 18 ORIGIN
(NSW Captain) v Queensland Under 18's

NSW CHS Under 18's -
(NSWCHS CAPTAIN)
ASSRL Championships at Newcastle

St. George Dragons - TOYOTA CUP TEAM

ENDEAVOUR SPORTS HIGH SCHOOL - Arrive alive Cup - semi finalists

ENDEAVOUR SPORTS HIGH SCHOOL - NSWCHS UNIVERSITY SHIELD - Grand Finalists

Cameron said he owed a lot to his biggest supporter, his Mum who has been there for him and gone through the highs and lows and dragged him around to games and training since he started playing footy at the ripe old age of 4.

President of the Australian Schoolboys Rugby League (ASSRL) Mr. Bruce Wallace couldn’t praise Cameron enough. "Cameron is the first rugby league player since Blake Green in 2004 to win the award. Just to be nominated for the Val Lembit Award is huge - and to win it is sensational.”

“It's a marvelous achievement seeing as Ian Thorpe one it twice in 1997 and 1998”, said Mr Wallace.

Below we have exclusively for ourfootyteam readers an interview with the man himself.

Cronulla Vs Aquinas ( 8 B )
SWEARING ON FIELD

The Junior League is serious and the referees will be instructed to make an example of someone!

DO NOT even swear at yourself if you are frustrated or you will risk leaving your team short

You have been warned!
Definitely no back chat!
